She is the daughter of actress Moon Moon Sen and the granddaughter of legendary actress Suchitra Sen. Her sister, Riya Sen, is also in the Bollywood industry. Their father is Bharat Dev Varma, scion of the erstwhile royal family of Tripura state.

Her paternal grandmother Ila Devi, was the princess of Cooch Behar (in Bengal), whose younger sister Gayatri Devi is the Maharani of Jaipur.

Malaika has appeared in numerous advertisements. She is seen in various item numbers or song and dance sequences, such as Chaiyya Chaiyya in the film Dil Se and Maahi Ve in Kaante. She has since then focused on her career as a model and television anchor.

In 2005, she did another item number: Kaal Dhamaal in the movie Kaal. Recently she also did an item in Prince Mahesh Babu's Athidhi. In 2007, she did a title song in Heyy Babyy directed by Sajid Khan and another popular song for Om Shanti Om whose director is the sister of Sajid, Farah Khan. Malaika also starred in the song Hont Rasiley in Welcome.

She is married to the Bollywood actor Arbaaz Khan whom she met during a coffee ad shoot. They have a son, Arhaan. Her sister is actor Amrita Arora, and her brothers-in-law are actors Salman Khan and Sohail Khan.

Arbaaz said in an interview "She balances work, home and kid beautifully." Amrita said on the popular show Koffee With Karan that she doesn't know anyone in Bollywood who have maintained their body like Malaika has even after motherhood.

At one point, she was romantically linked to John Abraham.

Rani Mukerji, born on March 21, 1978, is an award winning Indian film actress who works in Bollywood movies.

Sushmita was born in the Bengali-speaking Sen family on November 19, 1975 in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. Her family consists of her dad, Shubeer, a former Indian Air Force Wing Commander; mom, Subhra, Jewelry Designer and owner of a Dubai-based store. She has two siblings, a sister named Neelam, who is married to Nauman Malik, and a brother named Rajeev. Subhra's dad was a poet. Her first public appearance was at the Air Force Club Contest at the age of 15. She did a few fashion shows thereafter. Then during 1994 she decided to be a participant in Miss India beauty pageant, fully aware that she was being pitted against the reigning favorite, Aishwarya Rai. Sushmita took everyone by surprise when she was crowned Miss India while Aishwarya had to content with being the First Runner-up. Both beauties went on to win Miss Universe and Miss World titles respectively. Ironically the final outfit for Miss Universe for Sushmita was made by a little-known Meena Bazar tailor, and her mom. It was during 1996 that she first appeared as herself in a Bollywood movie titled 'Dastak'. Though the movie did not fare too well, she was noticed and thus began her career on the silver screen. She has since then portrayed herself in a variety of characters and also some 'item' numbers. Konkona Sen Sharma, born 3 December 1979 in New Delhi, India is an acclaimed National Award winning Indian actress.
